Pete Lanigan comes from several generations of glass blowers and was taught by his uncle, John Barber, at age 11. Now approaching 20 years of practice, he continues to develop both his skill and artistic voice in glass.

GAYLE HAZEN

Gayle Hazen is a textile and mixed media maker, creating wearable art and accessories, handbound books, and occasional handwoven or knitted pieces.

AMY MACKINAW

Working from a workshop in the birch woods, Amy Mackinaw creates colorful Alaska-inspired fiber art. Each piece begins as white fabric, then is dyed, surface designed, quilted, and sewn into wearables and home goods.

JOHN UNRUH

With a lifelong passion for wood, John Unruh highlights the natural beauty of Alaska woods through drying, turning, and design. His work includes functional and artistic pieces such as bowls, platters, rolling pins, and keepsake objects.

DAVID PERSONIUS

Drawing from the tradition of bird and fish decoys—once purely functional tools made from local materials—David Personius creates contemporary decorative folk art. His work explores both vintage and modern interpretations of this evolving form.

Movement arts, as described by Coach Teal Belz, Owner and Artistic Director, use the body as the primary medium. Through acrobatics that move from ground to air, this kinetic practice builds strength, flexibility, and a dynamic expression of art.

HELEN EVANS

Helen Evans translates the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness into watercolor paintings, each reflecting the timeless allure of the medium.

LINDA WIES

Linda Wies creates work by hand-carving relief blocks from wood or linoleum, applying oil-based inks, and pressing each image onto fine art paper using a traditional etching press, one color at a time.

NATALIE SCHULDT & KATEY HILPERT

Natalie, a lifelong Alaskan, draws inspiration from the flora, fauna, and people of the Interior, particularly Fairbanks. She explores a range of printmaking processes and artistic ideas. Katey presents her photography and concepts through mixed media.

ROBIN FARMER

Robin Farmer, shaped by decades in Alaska’s landscapes, explores the medium’s expressive spontaneity through curiosity and observation. Her work evokes a sense of quiet nostalgia, focusing on subtle beauty found in simplicity and stillness.

CORLIS TAYLOR

A master sewist, Corlis Taylor creates one-of-a-kind wearable garments, including jackets, dresses, and coats. With over 30 years of experience, she focuses on wearable art and quilts and shares a long-standing studio practice with Gayle Hazen.

LILAH WILLIAMS

Lilah Williams, with 13 years of experience and training under Jack Finch at UAF, creates work rooted in both Alaska and environmental sustainability. Using responsibly sourced stones and recycled metals, she crafts one-of-a-kind heirloom pieces.

JACQUELINE BUTLER

Jacqueline creates paintings and prints in her signature “mythical reality” style, inspired by Far North legends. Her work features Alaskan wildlife in magical, storybook settings acrossa range of printmaking and painting mediums.
